This degree equips you with skills in the design, construction, analysis and testing of aerospace systems. As an aerospace engineer, you will be a pillar of scientific and technical knowledge in air transport, defence and space, the UK's fastest-growing engineering sectors. This course offers you high-level knowledge of analysis, design and the operational tools of aerospace vehicles and their systems. We will develop your professional engineering skills over three years, focusing on innovative and sustainable solutions to current and future industry trends. Challenging design projects and an optional industrial placement will enhance your real-world engineering skills and future opportunities. You will develop a strong technical background in key areas of aerospace engineering, including air/spaceship structure, propulsion, control and manufacturing. Assessment method
Assessment is by coursework and examinations. Group learning and communication skills are addressed through design studies and presentations. Practical and technical skills are assessed through laboratory work, data analysis and project reports. Grades obtained in each year count towards the final degree classification, with increasing weight given to the later years.
