This three-year Honours degree programme provides students with an excellent opportunity to understand and apply a range of scientific principles to the management and development of the horse, rider and the wider equestrian industry.


Year 1 - Equine Therapy OR Equine Behaviour; Equine Biology; Academic and Professional Skills; Equine Management (double module); Elective Year 2 - Equine Biomechanics; Research Methods; Ethics of the Horse Industry OR Equine Exercise Physiology; Equine Nutrition; Professional Practice and Consultancy for the Equine Sector; Elective Year 3 - Research Project (double module); Manipulation of the Equine for Performance (1.5 module); Advances in Animal Science and Technology; Developments in Equine Nutrition (1.5 module) OR Developments in Equine Reproduction (1.5 module)

Qualification requirements

Normally 5 GCSEs Including Maths and English (or equivalents) are required, however, applicants are advised to check with the University Centre if they do not possess the specific qualifications. The University Centre may consider applicants with work experience within a relevant industry in place of some qualifications. Applicants who believe they may be eligible for Accreditation of Prior Certificated and/or Experiential Learning (APCL/APEL) will be considered on an individual basis.
