Course summary

Explore the technological, economic, legal, and governmental policy aspects that are driving renewable energy. You will gain an integrated and critical understanding of renewable and clean energy technologies and issues. You will examine the role of international and national law and policy in the area of sustainability. You'll study renewable energy forms and sources such as:

  • wind
  • marine
  • solar energy
  • resource assessment
  • energy production
  • delivery and consumption
  • storage
You'll also acquire skills for formulating, reviewing, analysing, and communicating insights in the area of energy governance. You will learn about the low carbon transition, with particular reference to renewables. This will prepare you to lead in thinking and practice on vital aspects of the ongoing low carbon energy transition taking place at all levels of energy governance. In 2015, all UN countries pledged support for the 17 Sustainable Development Goals to achieve a more prosperous future for all while protecting natural resources. This course aligns itself closely to these goals and you will have the opportunity to learn more about them during your studies. CEPMLP has been a global voice of energy law and policy since 1977.
