On this course, which runs over four years, you’ll learn how the human body functions, the impact that disease has, and how normal function can be restored through drug therapy. You’ll explore the sciences that underpin drug discovery and development - and the important role of systematic, conceptual and analytical thinking. You’ll learn laboratory and other practical skills in our Level-2 SuperLab Complex (anglia.ac.uk/superlab). When you graduate, a wide range of job opportunities will become available to you in the pharmaceutical sector, clinical research or public health. You may also progress and develop yourself further in research or academia by completing further studies in the field of pharmaceutical sciences at Masters and post-doctoral (PhD) levels. We use a number of ways to track your learning, and to make sure you are developing the knowledge and skills you need. You will undertake practicals in almost all your modules, developing your practical laboratory skills, and your written, verbal, and numerical skills will be assessed from coursework including essays and lab reports, and poster and oral presentations. There will also be tests and exams, to determine your grasp of the fundamental principles and to develop your problem-solving skills.

We welcome applications from international and EU students, and accept a range of international qualifications.
5 GCSEs at grade 3, or grade E, or above, plus evidence of having attempted two years of post-GCSE study. If you have achieved a minimum of 1 A level (or equivalent), you will be exempted from the two-year post-GCSE requirement (as stated above) but must still hold the baseline requirements of 5 GCSEs (as stated above). If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 5.5 (Academic level with at least 5.5 in each of the four components) or equivalent English language qualification, as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University.
