The Executive MBA is designed for experienced professionals who are looking to enhance their careers with part-time study. Our Executive MBA programme is delivered in Shanghai, China, over long weekends (Friday to Sunday), starting in September or April. You will follow an eight-week cycle of part-time study over two years, during which you will be taught by a wide range of experts including professors, lecturers, teaching fellows and postgraduate tutors. The classroom teaching comprises a mix of lectures, group work, case studies and discussion, and this along with one-to-one supervision is designed to provide you with a sound underpinning for a specific programme of practical research.

All assessments are done by a portfolio of work-based assignments. This programme is for you if you have a minimum of FIVE years’ post-degree work experience, a track record of professional achievement and a good first degree (equivalent to a British second-class Honours degree) or above in any discipline. The Programme Director may consider applicants with non-standard qualifications. If you have non-standard qualifications and extensive work experience, please ensure to enclose a complete CV and detailed work references.

To study for a postgraduate degree at the University of Aberdeen it is essential that you can speak, understand, read, and write academic English fluently. These skills will allow you to understand lectures, produce high standards of written work, and perform well in examinations. We can assess your English language proficiency through a variety of means: through your nationality, through the qualifications you gained in high school, through the degree you undertook or are undertaking at university, or through a recognised English language test. Postgraduate Higher requirements are used by the Schools of Business; Divinity, History and Philosophy; Education; Language, Literature, Music and Visual Culture; Law; and Social Sciences.
