Combine your creative flair and technical skill with a Product Design Engineering degree from Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU). Our degree has been designed in collaboration with IMecE, a leading professional industry body, and will enable you to transform your ideas into physical, practical solutions. At CCCU, this industry-focused degree will enable you to critically think and collaborate with others so you can produce practical solutions that have commercial potential. You’ll learn how to integrate engineering and design skills via practical and industry related design projects, transforming you into a confident and creative product design engineer. You’ll use the pioneering CDIO (Conceive, Design, Implement, Operate) approach to problem solve mechanical engineering issues. The CDIO approach is an international engineering education model, developed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). It allows you to learn in a practical, hands-on way to find creative, evaluated solutions to industry related engineering challenges. We are one of the only handful of universities in the UK to offer CDIO. What's more, with a Product Design Engineering degree from CCCU, you'll get prepared for a variety of sectors including consumer products, aerospace, and health. Specialist facilities Our Verena Holmes building is home to the engineering workshop, mechatronics lab, makerspace and mechanical physics lab, complete with industry standard equipment. Location This course is run at our Canterbury Campus in Kent. Canterbury is just 50 miles south-east of London and less than an hour by high-speed train from St Pancras. Located on a UNESCO World Heritage Site the campus offers state-of-the-art buildings, right in the centre of a vibrant and world-famous cathedral city. You’ll benefit from a campus with excellent learning and teaching resources, music venues, a superb sports centre, a well-stocked bookshop and plenty of coffee bars and places to eat. A short walk away is Augustine House our award-winning library and home to a vast range of learning resources and student support teams.

Home (UK) Fees: Home (UK) tuition fees for standard undergraduate degree and PGCE courses at Canterbury Christ Church University are currently set in line with the maximum tuition fee cap set by the UK Government. Canterbury Christ Church University expects the 2026/27 tuition fees for standard undergraduate degrees (excluding Foundation Year 0) and PGCE courses for Home students, to be set at the maximum tuition fee cap, currently £9,535. However, this is subject to any changes to the maximum tuition fee cap, or any other changes to regulated undergraduate tuition fees, that might be subsequently approved by Parliament for the 2026/27 academic year.
