Course summary

The Financial Crime and Compliance MBA (FCCMBA) is a unique and innovative award of a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Bangor University together with a professional designation of Financial Intelligence Specialist (FIS), awarded on successful completion of this programme. Financial Intelligence Specialist (FIS) designation is bestowed by ManchesterCF, an established provider of financial intelligence qualifications. The FCCMBA is a global programme aimed at individuals in compliance role s in financial services institutions, and regulatory bodies, or those wishing to enter the financial compliance industry. FCCMBA is delivered through distance learning on a part-time basis and can be studied from any location with a good internet connection. The programme emphasises areas of anti-money laundering in different contexts, anti-corruption and compliance with sanctions. Informed by the UN Principles for Sustainable Banking, the programme focuses on constraining crime and terrorism through the diligence of financial institutions.

Entry requirements

An appropriate undergraduate degree from a recognised university and relevant experience in the industry. Accelerated routes of study based on exempting individual modules will be considered for students from Bangor’s own Chartered Banker MBA, and for graduates of relevant masters degrees from recognised universities. Candidates are assessed on an individual basis. As an example, entry to the full programme would require a first degree that is equivalent to minimum of British Bachelor Degree Lower Second Class (2:2) and or possession of an approved professional qualification and practical experience. Candidates who do not have a formal degree or professional qualification, but have minimum 3 year of approved management experience will also be considered. Candidates may wish to submit their CV for assessment to confirm eligibility for a specific route. Applicants should have a minimum of 3 years practical experience at a relevant level. Applicants must have a high level of fluency in the English language.
