This course is primarily designed for face to face learning with you attending your lessons for the specified hours within the validation document. However, there may be periods of study where the government advises TEC Partnership that it is not safe to open campuses or there is limited access due to social distancing measures. If the Campus is closed TEC Partnership will continue to deliver your sessions online and offer you the necessary support and resources remotely. If there is limited access due to social distancing measures a blended model will be adopted with some lessons happening in small groups and others happening using online sessions and support. You will study and apply core design processes and methods, to develop a creative, technical and academic tool kit required to enter into your chosen career. It seeks to do this by encouraging students to expand upon design thinking and a range of expertise through real-life applications and collaborations, gaining the confidence to creatively problem solve and manage across peers, projects, clients and multiple disciplines. It aims to facilitate opportunities for students to develop both innovative and practical skills along side conceptual understanding in order that they are able to critically evaluate research, practices and approaches to gain a broad understanding of design. Application of the knowledge gained will shape and inform their own, future, studio practice and chosen career that is able to withstand the vigour of industry.
