Urban studies at Westminster involves a cross-disciplinary group of researchers whose areas of interest include: urban design; international planning; regional studies; urban regeneration; housing studies; urban and regional governance; and infrastructure planning. We have a thriving community of PhD students and offer supervision to applicants whose topics engage with our research interests.
How to apply
Applicants should have a minimum classification of 2.1 in their first degree or equivalent and preferably a master's degree (or masters degree pending). Applicants whose first degree has not been studied in English should have IELTS 6.5 overall and 6.0 in all elements. Applicants need to submit a research proposal of 2,000–3,500 words. It should include a title of proposed research, identify discipline and formulate research questions clearly. It should also include proposed research methodology and plan of work and time schedule. References are normally required and if not provided with your application will be requested at a later date.
