Course summary

Today’s global business environment sees companies rely heavily on digital technologies to stay ahead of the game. Is this course for me? This course aims to provide you with the specialist knowledge and capabilities to understand digital business in the modern world. You will engage specifically with the principles, theories and practices utilised within digital economy and digitally enabled organisations and become equipped to successfully lead and manage digital advances in a business environment. Open to those from any undergraduate background, this Masters course is suitable for those with an interest in digital business and management and those who would like to develop their understanding of the digital economy and digital business. During the second part of the Masters you can opt to specialise in three specialist areas of digital business, allowing you to explore issues at depth in the following areas: Data Management Public Service Organisation-wide digital innovation Throughout the Masters course, there will be opportunities for you to explore your personal leadership and management development through theory based and experiential learning. This will support your personal development and help you understand your preferred employment route and the skills needed to succeed. There are several modules that involve practical activities which will enhance your teamworking skills and you will develop three strands of intelligence through: “emotional”, “cultural” and “business” intelligence, the first two considering self-awareness, team working and cultural awareness, the latter around information handling, project management and decision making.

Assessment method

Your tutors will use a variety of teaching methods, which may include lectures, seminars, problem-based workshops, case discussions, practical activities, group work and tutorials. Teaching is backed up by a well-designed support system that will underpin your learning journey. You will have access to a Guidance Tutor with whom you can discuss any academic issues. Extensive feedback from both tutors and peers is built into the course.


Entry requirements

Applicants should normally have: A minimum of a 2:2 honours degree or equivalent, or substantial experience of working in a business organisation.
