Course options

Course summary

This PhD project will focus on developing a Knowledge Management system for the IVHM Centre at Cranfield University. The project will focus on designing the system architecture for a broad KMS for all key functions of the Centre, and developing a KMS strategy. Then, it will be followed by the development of a working prototype of the KMS. Since opening in 2008, the Cranfield IVHM Centre has generated an overwhelming amount of knowledge, working in over 40 projects generating more than100 technical papers, publishing 6 books, terabytes of experimental data, dozens of algorithms and 10 experimental rigs. Currently, the subject of Knowledge Management system (KMS) and its importance is receiving more attention in industry and academia. Therefore an effective information and knowledge management platform for the IVHM Centre would bring together the knowledge related to the IVHM Centre’s core capabilities and competencies and enable the key technologies for managing its information and knowledge. The student will have the opportunity to work with experts in the Knowledge Management System, as well as being part of our strong and dynamic research centre at Cranfield University.
