If you're interested in how science helps solve crimes, this course will give you the practical skills and knowledge needed for a career in forensic science, policing, or criminal justice. You'll study in purpose-built facilities, including realistic crime scene flats, a court simulation suite, and our award-winning Anatomy Learning Centre. From day one, you’ll take part in practical sessions and learn how to collect, analyse, and present evidence to professional standards. What you’ll learn
- Investigate realistic crime scenes, collecting and recording evidence using professional techniques.
- Analyse forensic evidence such as DNA, blood patterns, toxicology samples, and trace materials.
- Explore areas like fire investigation, fingerprints, entomology, and impression evidence.
- Present your findings clearly and accurately, including in simulated courtroom environments.
- Understand how forensic work fits into the UK legal system and international investigation standards.
- This course is designed to prepare you for real careers in forensic science, law enforcement, border control, and more. You’ll build key skills in teamwork, communication, and problem-solving, all whilst working in the same kinds of environments used by professionals.

Canterbury Christ Church University expects the 2026/27 tuition fees for standard undergraduate degrees (excluding Foundation Year 0) and PGCE courses for Home students, to be set at the maximum tuition fee cap, currently £9,535.
