Course summary
Our MSc International Business Management programme will equip you with an understanding of international business organisations, their cultures, and the changing global environment in which they operate. Our staff and students are drawn from all over the world with widely varied expertise, making this MSc a truly international programme. The MSc begins with a study of contemporary management ideas and practice, looking at such topics as Business Communication Skills which are vital both for personal development and career progression within any industry. Advanced English for Business Studies will extend these communication skills even further, highly relevant for both English speaking students and non-English speakers. Other courses in the first semester (Fall starters) including Managing Across Cultures and Quantitative Analysis for Decision Makers will enhance your critical thinking and teamwork skills in a highly interactive and stimulating environment. In the second semester (Fall starters), courses including International Business, Leadership Development and Sustainable Business Strategies, will examine future trends in business, from the changing role of business in society to the impact that rapidly evolving technology has on business in a global context. In our two finance courses, you will explore crucial questions surrounding international trade, global financial markets, regulation, pricing, how to evaluate financial performance, the psychology of financial decision making and the importance of interest rates and exchange rates for international business. Extend your business skills knowledge with the courses in the third semester which encompass research, operations management and how to market international products and services. You’ll have the choice in the final semester of doing either an internship with a dissertation or an extended research project, both great opportunities to provide hands-on experience to increase your employability.
