Course summary
MA TESOL is designed for professionals with at least two years of teaching experience who aim to deepen their understanding of the foundations of TESOL, while advancing their knowledge of key areas. This degree opens doors to diverse career opportunities in English language teaching and education. Our graduates can pursue fulfilling roles as ESL/EFL teachers, curriculum developers, teacher trainers, program administrators, and consultants, among other exciting paths in the global TESOL field. Led by academics who are experts in this field of study, you’ll explore how languages are learnt and how the English language is most effectively taught. You’ll consider how to analyse and describe the English language and examine different approaches to teaching languages to different kinds of learners. You’ll also consider the principles behind analysing a learner’s language proficiency and tracking their development. If you are not yet a TESOL professional with two years of experience, please see our MA TESOL Studies programme. https://courses.leeds.ac.uk/e828/tesol-studies-ma
