Engineering Management at University of Chichester - UCAS

Course options

Course summary

The programme is aimed at science and technology graduates who wish to extend and develop their skills to encompass a wider set of disciplines, as well as graduates who want to develop their careers in managerial roles in engineering or manufacturing or in the commercial enterprise in which they have chosen to work. The programme is also aimed at experienced industry practitioners who wish to complement their academic knowledge and obtain professional recognition in key management areas in private industry or the public sector nationally and internationally. At present, science and technology undergraduate degree programmes do not normally reflect the growing multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary characteristics of the modern business enterprise. However, many trained engineers possess a high degree of analytical problem-solving ability, which can be directly transposed to the business and enterprise environment. Skills such as optimisation and simulation, for example, although developed specifically for mechanical or electrical engineering systems are equally relevant to enterprise or engineering business management. A systems approach to problem solving which is developed in many undergraduate engineering programmes is also directly applicable to decision making at the strategic and enterprise level.
