Modules

In your first year, you will be introduced to the core disciplines and the context of civil engineering such as structural mechanics and strength; geotechnics and hydraulics within a group project based environment. There is also a residential surveying field course and the opportunity to attend skills workshops. In year two, your core subjects will be developed in greater depth and a major design-based project will help you see the application of your studies. In year three, core subjects continue alongside a range of elective modules allowing you to specialise across a number of civil engineering disciplines. In year four, further elective modules are offered with an individual investigative project and a major group design project, which will prepare you for a career in civil engineering.
