In choosing to study Aberystwyth University's BSc Sport and Exercise Science degree you will experience modules that highlight the interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary nature. Combining disciplines such as Physiology, Psychology and Biomechanics within modules, it shows the complexity and reality of working with people, whether these are athletes, patients, or anyone else. This degree is endorsed by the British Association for Sports and Exercise Science (BASES), within the Institute of Biological, Environmental and Rural Sciences (IBERS) - an internationally recognised research and teaching centre. At Aberystwyth, we place great emphasis upon the practical skills, from the first year. Assessments largely comprise coursework and are based on real world case studies and are focused on working with people. You will have access to extensive research and teaching labs equipped with the latest equipment, which you will learn to use during the practicals. You will be taught by research-active staff at the forefront of knowledge, and emerge from your course with the knowledge, competencies and skills to forge a career in this fascinating field of science. This degree programme prepares you to support athletes, promote physical activity and health, and deliver exercise programmes, as well as developing your research, data analysis, personal and employability skills. Previous graduates from our degree have developed careers in professional sports, personal coaching, governing bodies of sport, healthcare, physiotherapy, education, medicine and the Ministry of Defence.
