Course summary

Are you passionate about understanding money? Are you interested in finding out about how financial investment works? Would you like to be in a position where you help to design the financial future of clients? The financial services industry is a fast moving and exciting sector, which offers a wide range of career opportunities in investment advice, insurance, pensions, and wealth management. Covering topics such as finance, investment, wealth management, accounting and taxation, this professionally recognised degree is designed to build your wider financial knowledge. At the same time, you should develop your analytical, ICT, communication and problem solving abilities. We work closely with industry professionals and employers to ensure that our course and qualifications offer current, dynamic and relevant skills to help equip you with the best opportunities for success. We enjoy close links with many professional finance bodies, such as the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), CFA Society of the UK (CFA UK) and Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI). Guest speakers often deliver sessions in commercial awareness, employability and working in the business sector. Staff teaching on this degree have written some of the standard textbooks used, as well as published in relevant academic journals, such as the Journal of Financial Service Professionals, Journal of Financial Planning, Journal of Investing, and the Journal of Index Investing. They regularly bring contemporary practice into the classroom, for example, monitoring relevant news stories like the furore around public pensions or executive bonuses, to stimulate debate and discussion. Qualification requirements

All applications are considered on an individual basis and the whole application is reviewed which includes previous and predicted qualifications, experience, reference and your motivation to study the course. The University also accepts the BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate / BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma and BTEC Level 3 National Diploma / BTEC Level 3 Diploma for entry onto degree programmes, provided that they are studied in combination with other qualifications that are equivalent to three A2 Levels. This may include subject specific requirements where necessary. If you are successful in receiving an offer, you will be invited to an Applicant Visit Day to discover more about the course and studying at Coventry University.
