Course summary
Despite being research-focused, this PhD (3 years full time) presents opportunities in a number of domains from research and scholarship at one extreme to applied work in areas such as mental health, child protection, health promotion, product design and organizational behaviour at the other. The areas in which you are able to work are to an extent determined by the specific area of your graduate qualification.
Modules
All members of the department are research active with a broad cross-section of interests in theoretical and applied fields using a range of research methods. The department has particular strengths in the area of psychology applied to health and medicine and in fostering interdisciplinary research. Current staff have particular interest in: psycho-oncology; exercise and health psychology; psycholinguistics; language and thinking; group processes and social identity; music psychology; qualitative research methods.

A minimum of at least an upper second class honours degree is required for a PhD or for any funding. For further details, contact the department. Applicants whose first language is not English will require IELTS score of at least 7.0.
