Course summary

This degree builds on the industry-recognised HNC. All first year entrants will start on the HNC which is available at Inverness College UHI, Perth College UHI, and Moray College UHI. Successful completion will allow progress onto the second year of the degree (DipHE) and entry at this level is available at the following campuses: Inverness College UHI, Lews Castle College UHI, Moray College UHI, North Highland College UHI, Orkney College UHI, Perth College UHI and West Highland College UHI. The BA (Hons) Sports Management degree is designed for those seeking a broad-based management qualification that will introduce you to all aspects of today's modern sporting business. This course will equip you with the skills you will need for a career in sports management, including marketing, human resources, business law and IT.

Entry requirements for advanced entry (i.e. into Year 2 and beyond)

For Year 2 entry, all applicants must have achieved HNC Sports Coaching and Development or HNC Fitness, Health and Exercise Group Award (15 SCQF credits) and be accepted as a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme member through your campus system. Placements cannot be started without this. Direct entry to year 3 is the HND Sports Coaching and Development or HND Fitness Health and Exercise (30 SCQF credits), or DipHE Sports Management.

UHI does not use Tariff points, and accepts a range of qualifications. Applicants with other relevant qualifications or experience will be considered on an individual basis.

Successful applicants will be required to complete a PVG Disclosure Check and become PVG Scheme Members in order to undertake this course.
