Course summary
The programme has been developed in partnership with audiovisual businesses including the Tate Gallery, Visavvi, Shure, The AV Cultural Forum, and Wellcome Trust. Audiovisual material and associated technical skills are a fundamental, and increasingly significant component at the cinema, on television, at music venues, theatres, festivals, conferences, and for corporate, charity and public sector organisations. The live audiovisual industry reports a shortage of technically competent staff needed to plan and deliver events involving sound, light, and video projection. There is also a shortage of site-specific audiovisual technicians permanently based in institutions. Our course prepares you for employment in four main career progression pathways: AV systems integration Online and in-person events engineering (sound, light, video projection, camera operator, vision mixing, multimedia control) Site-specific AV technician (schools, colleges, universities, hospitals, etc) Audiovisual capture and post-production Job roles you can progress into include: Products & Applications Support Specialist Audio Visual Events Technician On-site AV Technician AV Site Manager Field Service Engineer Multimedia Architect Senior Audio Visual Technician Onsite AV Engineer Technical Operations Manager Video Installation Technician Lead Video Installation Technician Project Manager Exhibitions Lighting Manager
