Course summary

Our Sustainable Sport Business masters programme will develop your critical understanding on how to manage the practice of sustainability, along with insights into broader economic, social, environmental and policy issues in sport. You will learn from a passionate faculty of leading academics and professionals, offering vibrant insights into sustainable management through the sharing of specialised knowledge in the theories of change, transition, critical management and sustainable futures, as well as governance and policy related to sustainable development. Why you should study this degree Through a series of insightful lectures, seminars, tutorials and practice-based learning by doing projects, you will investigate the socio-economic and environmental aspects of sustainability and its practice. You will also be exposed to some of the latest opportunities and challenges confronting sport organisations at a global, national and local level. You will learn how to connect theory with practice by attending facility tours at London sport organisations and participating in project-based work with our esteemed partners. Previous sustainability projects have seen students work with Formula E, Wimbledon, the R&A, Union Cycliste Internationale, and the United Nations Environment Programme. You will learn how to plan, lead and manage a sustainability change agenda for a sport organization, enterprise and/or new business venture, through learning and exploring new sustainable products, services and business models for sustainability.
