Course summary

Construction Project Management at Heriot-Watt University is one of the longest-running courses of its kind in the UK, equipping graduates with the theoretical knowledge and practical and technical skills to manage people and projects within the construction industry. Our students Students tend to come from the construction industry, bringing with them practical experience in a variety of built environment roles, or from other professional backgrounds but with an interest in converting to a career in the construction industry.   • Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
  • Chartered Institute of Building
The University is also a Corporate Member of the Association for Project Management. This course is delivered by the Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Building Design, a leading body recognised by the Royal Academy of Engineering. This is one of four such centres established at UK universities that jointly form a national network to demonstrate and exchange best practice in teaching and research for the sustainable built environment. Flexible study options This course can be studied full-time, part-time or via Online Learning. Delivered by Online Learning this course is ideal for those in employment or with other commitments, providing flexible study options that fit around you and your life. Students will have a maximum of two years from registering for each taught course until they have to complete the online assessment. Students receive comprehensive materials for each course through an online Virtual Learning Environment. Career opportunities This industry-focused programme ensures graduates are quickly able to make a positive and effective contribution to their working environment, and as such are in great demand by construction industry employers. This course offers a number of guest lectures each year specific to the modules where experienced professionals from industry visit to share their knowledge and experience with students.
