Course summary
For dentists looking to introduce dental implants within their practice, this is the ideal course. Our MSc Clinical Implantology combines home study with the opportunity to treat patients under the direct clinical supervision of experienced consultants. Busy dental practitioners can gain the skills and knowledge required of a Dentist with Special Interest (DwiSI) over one year of full-time study or two years of part-time study.
- This course is delivered via blended learning, using a combination of online delivery, face-to-face learning and clinical sessions. It prepares you to provide safe and appropriate dental implants as part of your clinical practice.

Entry requirements
Applicants will be registered with an appropriate regulatory body and have a licence to be a dental therapist. Be registered with a defence union - possessing indemnity insurance with cover at an appropriate level. Be in professional practice or a hospital appointment while attending the course. Hold a current certificate of immunisation against communicable disease Hepatitis B. Have sufficient competency in English language. IELTS: 7.0 or equivalent. Competency may be demonstrated by qualification, accreditation of prior learning or separate University assessment. DBS: all potential students must undergo an enhanced DBS check prior to admittance to the programme. All suitable applicants will be interviewed. This course will involve you working with vulnerable groups of individuals, this may include children. In order to ensure that the University offers places on their programmes to suitable candidates you will be required to obtain a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service clearance (formerly termed CRB).
