Course summary

For dentists looking to introduce dental implants within their practice, this is the ideal course. Our MSc Clinical Implantology combines home study with the opportunity to treat patients under the direct clinical supervision of experienced consultants. Busy dental practitioners can gain the skills and knowledge required of a Dentist with Special Interest (DwiSI) over one year of full-time study or two years of part-time study. This course is delivered via blended learning, using a combination of online delivery, face-to-face learning and clinical sessions. It prepares you to provide safe and appropriate dental implants as part of your clinical practice. There’s also the opportunity for continued mentoring and support from the experienced clinicians and educators who deliver the course.

  • Full-time students will be based at Preston Campus, and undertake their clinical sessions within the UCLan Dental Centre.
  • Part-time students will be based off-campus, undertaking both learning and clinical sessions within one of our approved regional training centres.

Entry requirements

Applicants admitted onto the course will meet the following requirements: Be registered with an appropriate regulatory body and be a practicing dentist; Be registered with a defence union; Hold a current certificate of immunisation against communicable disease (Hepatitis B); Have sufficient competency in English language (IELTS Level 7 or equivalent).
