Course summary

MA Fashion Design Technology Menswear investigate their own practice to define design methodologies that encompass key concepts of fabric, cut and silhouette. Based on rigorous research and analytical thinking, the course encourages fresh perspectives in menswear design. Students are able to explore the potential of their transferable skills and knowledge into menswear design methodologies. This course is based at John Prince’s Street, London College of Fashion’s most central site. Located at the heart of Oxford Circus the site has convenient access to every high street shop that London has to offer. The local areas of Marylebone, Mayfair and Soho are home to many of London’s main attractions, points of interest and museums. Modules

Modules include: (20 credits) research methods; collaborative unit; (40 credits) creative and technical innovation; technical analysis and development; (60 credits) Master’s project.

Assessment method

Assessment is by a technological investigation into new methods with prototypes; or a dissertation on a design-based subject.


Entry requirements

An Honours degree at 2.1 or above in fashion or clothing design and/or production. Applicants with a degree in another subject may be considered, depending on the strength of the application; or equivalent qualifications; or relevant and quantitative industrial experience for a minimum of 3 years. Applications from mature students are welcomed. Applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in any 1 skill.
