The Higher National Certificate in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) covers the fundamental concepts, principles and theories of engineering, analysis and design, practical and technical skills, and transferable business skills relevant to engineering. This course is ideal for students wishing to work within the mechanical engineering industry. This programme is flexibly structured and provides a practical and academic challenge within the framework of current industrial practices in engineering. This course is particularly relevant to people already working in, or looking to develop a career within Mechanical Engineering. This course provides a range of skills relevant across a variety of different professions. Assessment method
The primary way of delivering this course is on campus. On campus teaching includes a combination of lectures, small group seminars, workshops, guest lectures and one to one discussions with your tutor. Students studying part-time will receive 7 hours of teaching per week throughout this course full-time students 14 hours of teaching. Additional one-to-one meetings with tutors will provide further support.
