Our degree courses with Foundation year offer the opportunity to prepare you for advanced study before you progress onto a full honours degree at the University of Westminster. Whether you do not feel ready for degree-level study, don’t have the right qualifications, want to change your subject specialism or return to study after an absence from education, we aim to encourage a broad range of students to undertake our Foundation year in order to progress onto their full honours degree with us. Our Foundation year in Music is designed to help you to develop creative music expertise across a range of themes. Whether you aspire to become an artist, producer, performer, songwriter, composer, musicologist, journalist, DJ, technologist, entrepreneur, business specialist or educator, this course is designed to nurture those aspirations whilst exposing you to complementary sectors of the music industry, empowering you to develop a unique skillset and musical identity. During the Foundation year, you will get a chance to develop in your chosen field and work with leading academics who will encourage you to become a confident and creative thinker. On successful completion of the Foundation year, you will be able to move on to study for the Music Production, Performance and Business BA Honours degree over a further three or four years of study. Our Music Production, Performance and Business BA degree will equip you for a successful career in all areas of the commercial and popular music industries. Our course will inspire you to develop expertise and experience in the key fields of commercial music: music production, music performance and music business/enterprise. In today's industry, only by having knowledge and understanding of all three specific areas will you be sufficiently prepared for employment and a career in music.
