East Riding College has opted into the TEF and received a Silver award.
This course is intended to equip learners with the knowledge, understanding and skills to meet the increasing demand on childcare practitioners in early childhood settings. It comprises the first two levels of a degree with opportunities to complete the honours degree through our top-up course. The course is designed to support those childcare practitioners who wish to progress their development and pursue some of the many opportunities currently available for career development in the childcare and early childhood sector.
Level 4 Academic Skills Sociology of Childhood Safeguarding the Rights of the Child Playful Teaching and Learning Child Development and Learning Professional Practice Level 5 Research Skills Working in Partnerships Leadership and Management in a Childhood Setting Inclusion and SEND Effective Pedagogy Education and Curriculum Advanced Professional Practice Students will spend a minimum of 150 hours a year in placement.
A range of assessment techniques will be used such as essays, reports, presentations, padlet, academic posters and professional development portfolios.
