This programme will suit students who wish to develop the knowledge and understanding of public services, both uniformed and non-uniformed.
Modules
Year 1 Modules Include: Crime Reduction & Community Equality, Diversity and Fair Treatment Government and Politics Mental Health Wellbeing Organisational Structures and Culture Outdoor Skills Development Public Services in Contemporary Society Terrorism and Counter-terrorism Year 2 Modules Include: Blue Light Collaboration International Institutions & Global affairs Justice, Punishment and Rehabilitation Management of an Outdoor Event Reflective Professional Practice Research Project Youth Offending In the second year, students may be able to complete the certificate in Knowledge of Policing (CKP) and will have the option to complete the Security Industry Authority Security Licence (at an additional cost) which allows holders to legally work in the security and events industry.
Assessment method
You will usually have to complete portfolios, presentations and written assignments/essays as you progress in the course.
