Join this advanced two-year course which provides you with an in-depth study of the fundamentals of cyber physical systems. You will study more taught modules in your first year to take your knowledge and understanding of this field to a higher level. Your second year research project gives you the opportunity to conduct research in an area of cyber physical systems that you are interested in. This project will help improve your employability, look great on your CV and help you build contacts. Cyber physical systems is an area of computer science that is growing rapidly around the world. It can help us grow better crops, improve traffic, simplify management of health conditions, and save energy and increase sustainability. Examples of cyber physical systems include driverless vehicles, smart devices, robotic assistants and voice-assistant devices. This course will develop and advance your knowledge and expertise in cyber physical systems. You will study modules on topics such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, interactive systems, and machine learning. You will complete a research project in the field of cyber physical systems. This can be in any area you choose. We encourage you to collaborate with businesses or industry partners. You will be supported by our academic staff and our world-leading research groups throughout your project. To help support our students, we offer an Excellence in Computer Science scholarship. There are three levels to the award which range from 10-50% off your tuition fees.

Modules

You will largely work and study in lecture theatres, seminar rooms, and laboratories. Your research project will be in an area of cyber physical systems that you choose. This can be aligned with your own personal interests or your career ambitions. You will receive support from our academic staff and world-leading research groups. You will study a year of taught modules in your first year. This will teach you the fundamentals of cyber physical systems. You will study topics such as cybersecurity, human-computer interaction, and autonomous robotics.


Entry requirements

2:1 (or international equivalent) with a background or interest for programming. Graduates from a science or engineering background will be considered with a 55% average mark.
