This Diploma plus MSc course is designed for those enthusiastic about mathematics. Warwick's Mathematics Institute has designed this course for undergraduates of mathematics, physics or statistics degree to further develop their knowledge through a challenging and uniquely flexible programme. Course overview If you see yourself as a research mathematician of the future, this course may appeal to you. For enthusiastic mathematicians, it is a chance to further develop your knowledge if you already have an undergraduate Mathematics, Physics or Statistics degree. If your academic background is not in these areas, this course could still appeal if you are a strong mathematician looking for a return to formal education. Your studies will include a mix of lecture-based modules and independent research. The Diploma + MSc option gives you the opportunity to work on a project in your first year before you progress to your dissertation in the second year.

Assessment method
Before the beginning of the second year, you submit a project worth which will be marked by the supervisor and a second marker. The project will contribute to the first year mark. An average of 60% including the module and project marks is required to proceed to the second year. However, the first year project will not contribute to the final mark at the end of the second year. The second year dissertation may be a continuation of the first year project, but the same material cannot be used in both.
Entry requirements
**Minimum requirements** 2:i undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in Mathematics or a science with high mathematical content. **English language requirements** You can find out more about our English language requirements. This course requires the following: - Band A - IELTS overall score of 6.5, minimum component scores not below 6.0. **International qualifications** We welcome applications from students with other internationally recognised qualifications.
