At Cambridge, as well as being a member of the University, you're also a member of a College. If you’re fascinated by medieval history, literature and languages, and you relish the prospect of doing your own research using original source materials, this course – unique in the UK to Cambridge – will appeal. Anglo-Saxon, Norse, and Celtic (ASNC) focuses on the history, material culture, languages and literature of the peoples of Britain, Ireland and the Scandinavian world in the earlier Middle Ages.

Applicants are required to take a pre-interview written assessment at the end of October at an authorised assessment centre local to them (for most students, your local assessment centre is likely to be your own school/college). Please note that your assessment centre must register you for the pre-interview assessment (you can't register yourself) by 15 October - if you're not registered by this date, you won't be able to take the pre-interview assessment and your application to the University of Cambridge won't be valid (www.cam.ac.uk/assessment).
