University Centre Somerset - Bridgwater & Taunton College has opted into the TEF and received a Silver award.
This is a broad-based course for anyone interested in developing multidisciplinary skills within the animal management or conservation areas. It is also for people already working in the industry who wish to enhance their career prospects. The course concentrates on aspects of animal management and wildlife conservation associated with the habitats, behavior, welfare and conservation issues connected to a wide range of animals in captive and natural environments. The course is delivered by experienced teaching staff with a wide range of industry experience, in addition, there are a range of facilities available to support studies such as an extensive animal collection, college farm, equestrian centre and local environmental habitats such as Steart, one of the UK's largest wetland habitats. Importantly you will be able to develop a wide range of practical skills such as behavioral monitoring, environmental / species surveying and captive enclosure management in order that you may be able to contribute to a range of management and conservation situations.
