Based within our Centre for Research and Education in Arts and Media (CREAM) our research into Film is part of one of the UKs leading centres for research in visual media art, design and music. It boasts over 30 researchers, including award winning filmmakers, theorists and critics. Research focuses on two areas: documentary theory and practice, and non-Hollywood cinema. Through AHRC funding, conferences and strategic post doctoral appointments, the group has built a strong presence in documentary research. International research projects on South Asian and Southeast Asian cinema/visual arts are being developed with overseas partners.
