The BA (Hons) in Professional Musicianship is both academically and musically challenging, providing the perfect balance between practical and technical skills, and theory and analysis. You’ll explore and develop your potential career pathways through research and professional projects, and will learn the essential business skills required to work successfully in the music industry. Plus you’ll get to plug into one-of-a-kind networking opportunities and collaborate with likeminded fellow musicians during your time on the course.

Students will focus on one discipline throughout their studies on the Professional Musicianship Degree. Through a range of optional modules, including Solo Performance, Music Business Studies, Music Teaching Practice and Online Music, you can tailor the degree to fit your own personal goals. Applicants that require a Tier 4 visa to study in the UK must meet guidelines set by UKVI and will be required to have a consultation with a member of the admissions team upon acceptance. Tier 4 students can currently study at our Brighton, Bristol, London and Manchester campuses.

English language requirements

Cambridge English Advanced Level B2 A minimum overall score of 170 must be achieved, with no lower than 165 achieved in each section of the test.
IELTS (Academic) 6.0 A minimum overall score of 6.0 must be achieved, with no lower than 5.5 in each of the bands.

Applicants must have met the minimum requirements and be in receipt of results prior to enrolment.

At BIMM we’re determined to offer our students exceptionally good value for money. All BIMM three-year undergraduate degree courses taught in the UK are priced at £7,650 for UK and EU students, £1,600 less than many UK universities. UK/EU students studying in the UK For students to be eligible for funding from Student Finance England, they must be studying on an eligible course at a provider registered with the Office for Students (OfS). The OfS is the new independent regulator for higher education in England and all higher education providers need to register with the OfS for their students to be eligible for student support in the 2019-20 academic year. The OfS will start publishing providers on its Register from July 2018. We have made an application to register and expect a decision by November 2018. No provider will be able to confirm whether student support is available until it has a decision from the OfS. Visit officeforstudents.org.uk for more information.
