Whether you are interested in improving health through exercise and physical activity, peaking performance in elite sports or understanding how and why exercise works, the Sport & Exercise Science degree empowers you to serve the community in a variety of roles including research, teaching, coaching and counselling. Why study this course at the University of Glasgow? Your final year can include working as an intern with sports professionals or physical activity/public health providers to give you valuable work experience. You can also achieve funding through the Cathcart Scholarship to train, experience and work as a sports scientist within elite sports throughout the world in your third or fourth year, with all costs covered. Career Prospects? Our graduates are employed in professional sports clubs and agencies and national sports institutes like Scottish and English Institutes of Sport to support elite athletes; in universities, research and higher education institutions to teach and carry out research, and in testing and advising professional athletes and others in commercial enterprises. Recent graduates have also entered teaching and careers in business, health sector or further study.
