Business Studies Bournemouth University

Undergraduate

This course is delivered by the AACSB-accredited Business School, an accreditation attained by fewer than 5% of business schools worldwide. It recognises our focus on excellence in all areas.

Educating business students for over 35 years, this course is taught by highly qualified lecturers and industry-savvy practitioners, boast numerous networking opportunities and compelling talks from guest speakers in a variety of different business disciplines. Not only will you gain an in-depth academic understanding of business and management, but you will also enhance your teamworking, independent learning, communication and problem-solving skills, your awareness of responsible business practice, as well as the digital competencies and cultural intelligence required to work in an increasingly globalised and digitised economy.

One of the most popular aspects of this course is its flexibility, offering the opportunity to remain on this broader-focused pathway or select a specialist field of business, graduating with a more specific degree title: Economics; Enterprise; Finance; Human Resource Management; Marketing, Operations & Project Management; International Business Studies.

Alongside the study pathways, in the second and final year of the course, you will have the opportunity to choose option units to further tailor your studies to your career aspirations. You can also choose to study abroad at one of our international partner institutions, and you will enjoy 30-weeks in industry to build your CV, place your theory and skills into practice, and harvest a network of professional contacts. In fact, 94% of our Business Studies graduates are in work or study six months after graduating, of which 73% are in professional or managerial positions (Destination of Leavers from Higher Education, 2018).

Accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), this course carries a dual award, so you’ll graduate with a Business Studies degree and a CMI leadership and management qualification.

In addition, depending on which specialist pathway you follow, your studies will be recognised by the Chartered Institute of Marketing, the Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing, the Association of Project Management or the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
