Why BEng Industrial Control Engineering?
Our BEng Industrial Control Engineering course will prepare you for a career in modern industry. There is increasing demand for industrial control skills in the UK, as well as in the wider world economy, and this inter-disciplinary engineering course will give you tools essential for success in the digital era. You’ll gain fundamental knowledge of automation technology, operation, engineering design and management, exploring latest developments in the field. You’ll learn about the challenges in integrating the digital world to drive smart factories and advanced manufacturing, including new cyber risks associated with ‘Industry 4.0’ trends.
While drawing on the knowledge of our expert academic team, you’ll focus on industrial applications and use state-of-the-art equipment in our specialist labs, gaining hands-on experience through practical experiments. You’ll also have opportunities to apply theory and skills to solve real-world problems, taking advantage of our industry links with local and national firms such as ABB, MOOG, SC Group, Spirax Sarco, Dowty Propeller, Kohler Mira and Total Metal Products Ltd.
