Our Aeronautical Engineering MEng combines theory and practice in an integrated qualification, giving you the opportunity to study at in-depth masters level. The course extends your technical understanding, knowledge of business processes and management, and your leadership skills.

Designed with input from industry experts and accrediting bodies, this course provides a solid foundation in mechanical engineering and builds your aeronautical knowledge. Our Industrial Advisory Board contributes to the ongoing course development, keeping it updated and engaging.

Our lecturers are also active in their specialist research fields, and you will undertake projects arising from and contributing to this research. Guest lecturers reinforce our strong industrial links and provide networking opportunities.

You will also work in interdisciplinary teams on design and engineering projects reflective of industry, developing leadership, project management, teamwork, presentation and communication skills.

Additional fee information

For Home or EU applicants placement years attract an annual fee of £1,230. Many of our courses include the option of a salaried placement year. Standard tuition fees for full-time international students starting in 2018 vary by course type : Classroom-based courses £12,900 per year. Non-classroom based (laboratory/workshop-based) courses £14,040 per year Placement year £2,000 per year. International students should confirm the tuition fee for the course you are applying for by using our course finder (brighton.ac.uk/courses). Mandatory requirements for your course are covered by the tuition fees. These include things such as health or criminal record checks, specialist materials and mandatory field trips. Optional field trips, accommodation and course materials are not included in the tuition fees and you will need to pay for these yourself. Please contact the school that delivers your course about possible extra costs before you apply. The fees listed here are for full-time courses beginning in the academic year 2018–19. Further tuition fees are payable for each subsequent year of study and are subject to an annual increase of no more than 5% or RPI (whichever is the greater). The annual increase for UK/EU students, who are subject to regulated fees, will increase no more than the statutory maximum fee. The tuition fee you have to pay depends on a number of factors including the kind of course you take, and whether you study full- or part-time. If you are studying part-time you will normally be charged on a pro rata basis depending on the number of modules you take.
