Why study LLB?
Our law degree aims to enable you to gain a good understanding of the technical aspects of law, but it also equips you with a critical appreciation of how law functions within national and international societies. In keeping with the University’s ethos, this course provides you with an opportunity to experience the practice of law through the professionally based elements of the LLB. A law degree equips you with a broad range of transferable skills that are valued by many employers.
What does the course cover?
The LLB includes all the foundation modules necessary for professional qualification as a Solicitor or Barrister. In your first year you will study modules designed to equip you with legal skills and introduce you to important substantive areas of law.

What Careers Can I Consider?
Although an LLB is not required for qualification as a Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive, it is still the most common route into the legal profession. However, almost two-thirds of law graduates do not enter the legal profession but are employed in a number of areas where legal skills are valued. These are too many to mention, but include company secretary, human resources professional, corporate governance, civil service, accountancy, charitable organisations, advice worker and advocacy.
