University Centre Grimsby has opted into the TEF and received a Silver award.
The FdSc in Computing Technologies, aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge to go into a career in Programming, Website Development, 3D Modelling, Motion Graphics, Database Management, Systems Analysis, Networking or Project Management. Our course is delivered and assessed in an innovative and practical way, making use of digital, online and mobile technology where possible.
Our course offers students options into employment in many areas of the Computing Industry. Each student is sure to have a ‘favourite’ subject, but they can be rest assured that the also have a very solid Plan B, C, D and more. Most of our FdSc graduates progress onto the top-up, and from there our BSc graduates almost always gain full-time employment.
The course is two years full time and consists of six modules per year. On level four (year 1) you will study, Website Development, Systems Analysis & Database, Networking & Hardware, Programming, 3D Modelling and Professional Skills. On level four (year 2) you will study Integrated Web Technologies, Wide Area Networks & Security, Motion Graphics, Object Oriented Programming and Database Management. You will also undertake an Applied Project, where you go out into industry to complete a project for a real client.
