In a time of rapid technological and social change, businesses need highly trained, adaptable and creative individuals to keep pace and stay innovative. This course is designed to train you for the jobs of the future; you’ll be taught the fundamentals of business management in the wider context of the contemporary business landscape, ensuring your skills will remain flexible and adaptable as the world changes.
The course combines practical professional experience with creative approaches to enterprise and innovation that will develop your entrepreneurial spirit. We incorporate as much hands-on experience and professional training as possible; you’ll visit businesses across London, learn from guest speakers, and study work-based projects, with opportunities to take up internships and spend a year in work.
Year 1: People and Organisations, Foundations of Marketing, Global Economics and Business Context, Business Intelligence and Data Management, Personal and Professional Development; Year 2: Managing Sustainable Operations, Introduction to HRM, Business Law, Project Management, Introduction to Finance and Accounting, Corporate Social Responsibility and Ethics, Leadership of Sustainability; Year 3: Competitive Advantage in a Changing World, Intrapreneurship and Entrepreneurship in Practice, Management Report, Dissertation
Assessment will be based on practical and vocational skills as well theoretical knowledge. As a result you will be assessed through a variety of methods, ensuring different aspects of your skill set are acknowledged and rewarded – these methods include; coursework, essays, examinations, industry-related practice, presentations, project work, practical reports, portfolio development and group work.
The variety of assessment techniques also ensures you are exposed to different ways of working that will be useful in your future career; keeping a portfolio and working on projects are natural ways of working in industry that will be encouraged during your studies.
