About this course

If you aim to become a barrister or solicitor, this degree will provide you with the knowledge and skills to enable you to progress to the vocational stage of
legal training. It is a qualifying law degree, recognised by the Bar Standards Board and Solicitors Regulation Authority.

You’ll gain a comprehensive foundation in the English legal system and legal method, which provides a gateway to the study of contract, property and criminal law.

There are options for professional internships and the opportunity to spend a year studying overseas – ideal if you are considering an international career. You can tailor your degree to suit your interests and career goals with a selection of optional modules.

Mature applicants (21 years and older) will need to pass a QAA-approved Access to Higher Education Diploma in a relevant subject with 60 credits, minimum 45 credits at Level 3 including 15 at distinction and 21 at merit.

Applicants under 21 years will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme 27 points 4 in Mathematics at Standard Level. English Language required at 5 Standard Level or 4 Higher Level.
