This Mechanical Engineering BEng (Hons) course is the traditional route for those who wish to study Mechanical Engineering at University. You'll study for three years full-time and will enjoy studying both at University Centre at Blackburn College as well as in The Futures Centre -a new state-of-the-art development in Blackburn equipped with specialist electrical laboratory spaces and workshop areas. This Mechanical Engineering BEng (Hons) is specifically concerned with design, development, installation, operation and maintenance of just about anything that has moveable parts. As a result, there are job opportunities for mechanical engineers in practically every field of work, transport, health, defence, manufacturing, entertainment, finance, publishing, building, design and research, to name but a few.

Mechanical engineers work on the design and analysis of mechanical systems such as automobiles, aircraft, heating and cooling systems and industrial machinery. At University Centre at Blackburn College we have a strong history of training tomorrow's engineering professionals. We have strong links with industry in the North West and industry experts frequently contribute to the programme in the form of visiting lecturers or subject specific tutors. From 2013 students on this programme will enjoy studying in our brand new £7million Futures Centre - a science and technology development on the Blackburn College campus featuring state-of-the-art workspaces and workshops for engineering students.
