University Centre Somerset - Bridgwater & Taunton College has opted into the TEF and received a Silver award.
The top-up year focuses on creating your own personal design statement which will culminate in your work being showcased at our End of Year Degree Show, with opportunities to engage with industry at national events such as New Designers in London.
We offer opportunities for residential trips in the UK and abroad as well as well as a variety of day trips. Previous cohorts have taken opportunities to embark on study visits to London, New York, Berlin and Paris amongst others.
Modules studied may include:
- Inspiration and Innovation
Most of your time will be spent in our first-rate studios and workshops, although your practical work will be complemented by a programme in Visual Culture during your first two years. Assessment is by 100% coursework with no exams. Your final Degree Show exhibition forms an essential part of assessment.

Applicants must have a Foundation Degree, HND or equivalent Level 5 in an appropriate discipline.
Applicants are required to also have GCSEs 4-9 (A*-C) including English Language and Maths or an equivalent L2
