If you are motivated and dedicated with a passion for Musical Theatre as well as an ambition to pursue a career in theatre then our course is for you! Through it you will gain a variety of essential skills for working within the theatre industry or to continue your studies on to a degree course in order to develop your skills further.
The HNC/HND in Musical Theatre is aimed at combining creative and professional units to equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to work in the performing arts. You will be tutored by teachers and practitioners working in the field with experience and knowledge across the industry. In addition, the college maintains strong links with local theatres, offering workshops and performance opportunities in partnership with these organisations.
Additionally, guess lecturers from a variety of backgrounds are also invited to give you valuable insight into real, professional and creative performing arts practice.
Our course has been developed in order to cover a broad range of skills and develop your understanding of contemporary musical theatre practice. Upon completion of the course, you will emerge a triple threat performer!
In the first year you will study units such as:
Performing Arts Industry
Devising Theatre and Performance
Voice and Speech for Actors
- Ensemble Singing
In the second year you will study units such as:
Dance for Musical Theatre
Working in the Performing Arts Industry
- Performance Project
