University Centre Colchester at Colchester Institute has opted into the TEF and received a Silver award.
The Level 5 Higher National Diploma allows students to specialise in more specific career paths associated with Sports Coaching and Sport and Exercise Science and progression routes to degree-level study. The purpose of our Higher National’s in Sport and Exercise Science (Coaching Science) is to develop students as professional, self-reflecting individuals who are able to meet the demands of employment in the Sport and Exercise Science sector.
Who is this course for?
This course is for students who have successully completed looking to develop a career in sport. It will be focused on skills knowledge and experience needed to make a successful career in the sports industry. Students will be expected to gain practical coaching experience during the course.
The HND course builds on the knowledge gained on the HNC. Core modules include Advanced Coaching, Performance Analysis, Research Project and Talent Identification and Development
