Modes used include air, sea, rail, road and pipeline whilst airports, ports, rail and bus terminuses, warehouses and distribution centres act as nodes within transport networks.
Transport and logistics managers aim to make sure that goods can flow successfully through the supply chain. Other equally important players in a business are the logistics analysts, customer service managers and purchasing managers. Transport operators ensure that our rail, bus and coach services are run safely, efficiently and on time.
The course aims to give you a thorough grounding in all aspects of transport, logistics and distribution services. We’ll touch on a varied range of sectors, including train operators, bus and coach companies, third party logistics operators, consultancies and even the armed forces.You'll also study the operational and economic aspects, including passenger transport.
We’ve developed a large number of contacts in the industry like Cross-Country Trains, DHL and Royal Mail. You’ll have the chance to hear some inspiring guest lectures, or go on site visits. But most importantly, you’ll have the opportunity to take an optional work placement with a business in the transport and logistics industry.
