The pioneering M Law course is specifically designed for aspiring legal practitioners and those wishing to enter professional roles.
As an Integrated Master’s it meets the requirements of a Qualifying Law Degree, and incorporates the knowledge and professional skills needed to succeed as a solicitor (M Law Exempting) or barrister (M Law Exempting (Bar Professional Training Course).
In Years 1 and 2, all students follow the same programme, before joining either the M Law Exempting or the M Law Exempting (BPTC) for both Years 3 and 4.

Assessment method

Your tutors will use a variety of teaching methods, which may include lectures, seminars, problem-based workshops, case discussions, practical activities, group work and tutorials. Teaching is backed up by a well-designed support system that will underpin your learning journey. You will have access to a Guidance Tutor with whom you can discuss any academic issues. Extensive feedback from both tutors and peers is built into the course.

Additional fee information

Some courses have additional costs which are not covered by your tuition fee. These may be, for example, to cover printing and photocopying; for additional specialist equipment, materials or clothing/footwear; for books; for field study or placement visits or membership of professional bodies. It is important to consider these additional costs when planning how you will use your money. You will be advised of additional costs in your offer letter but you can also find out more on the ‘Money Matters’ pages of our website. If your course involves either a mandatory or optional placement (sandwich) or study abroad then you will need to pay a reduced tuition fee for this year. For 2018 entrants this has been set at 20% of the full tuition fee for the placement (sandwich) and 15% of the full tuition fee for study abroad. You can apply for funding to cover this cost from your student finance provider.’
